PHOTOS OF MY FINISHED LAST PROJECT:
ABOUT MY PIECE AND THE CREATION OF THE PIECE:
For my final project, I wanted to do another multimedia piece that was a little bit more abstract an had less of a main theme than my previous travel piece. I just wanted to be able to add random mediums and make it a fun, interesting, and eye-catching project. I started off by taking my favorite colors and finding them in tissue paper. I chose two different shades of pink, a purple, and two shades of blue. I then tore them into small pieces and used a gel medium to layer them on top of my drawing paper that was my base. I then allowed this to dry. I then took gold paint and put a lot of it on a brush and then flung it towards the paper to create a golden splatter paint effect that I felt paired nicely with the tissue paper colors. When I was making this piece, I had no idea what I wanted it to look like or what I wanted to do with it. I was purely just adding new things and new layers that I thought would look good as I went. After doing the paint, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do next. I saw some other students in the class making small pieces out of a 3D pen, so I decided to try something with that. I experimented for a while before deciding to make a 3D heart with the pen. I created the base heart, and then drew the little supports coming up from the heart. I then crisscrossed and wove lines of the pen material across the heart to the other supports to create a crisscrossed heart design. I then glued this heart to my piece, and I was done! I am really happy with how it turned out, because I think that everything fit nicely together and it was really fun making it since I could just keep adding new things without a set plan.
